In addition to my other creative avenues, I enjoy writing original pieces. Below, you can find some of my work.
Richard.
As part of the completion of my Applied Shakespeare Certificate, I created an adaptation of Shakespeare's Richard II for my capstone project. Using the original text, I recrafted the order of events to see the titular king as he processes the events which led to his deposition. This is one of my favorite Shakespeare plays, and I hope that this reimagining provides a different perspective on one of the most insightful characters in the canon.
The piece is made up of 95% of Shakespeare's original language, with small edits and additions from me, though the entire text retains the iambic styling.
