ARTS EDUCATION

Six months out of undergrad, I began my work as a Teaching Artist, which proved to be an even better fit than I could have imagined. When the school year started in the fall of 2019 I was enrolled and beginning my Master's degree through Colorado State University because I knew I had a lasting passion for the arts and wanted the skills to help me become a true leader in my field. My goal is to bring the arts to more people because it is through my ability to be artistic that I found my voice and my strength -- and everyone deserves to have those same opportunities.

In addition to working as a teaching artist, the fall after graduating I was proud to join Broadway Dallas on a contract as their Teaching Artist Coordinator for the Hamilton Project, helping with scheduling and coordinating DISD campuses receiving 8 classes of curriculum from Teaching Artists, all leading up to a performance of Hamilton just for DISD students.

In January of 2022, I made a return to the Dallas Children's Theater -- the place where I first found my love for the stage. I have been on staff as a teacher ever since, leading weekly Make-a-Play classes in the spring and fall, and camps all summer long! What a joy it has been to be able to pay it forward with the organization that helped me grow as an artist from a young age.

Finally, in perhaps my most exciting, but most challenging, endeavor as an arts educator to date, I have had the incredible opportunity to serve as full-time faculty at St. Mark's School of Texas for the 22-23 school year. It has been a whirlwind year as the Interim Lower School Drama Teacher, and I have loved every minute of getting to stretch my wings directing four productions and creating a year's worth of curriculum for grades 1st-4th, covering Greek, Musical Theater, and even Shakespeare!

My path as an educator has been surprising and full of twists, but exciting and fulfilling nonetheless. I am so grateful to make a career of sharing my passion for theater with others, and I can't wait to see where the journey leads me next.
